Are we so focused on checking boxes for our younger students' education, or that all important transcript for high school, that we forget there are a lot of different ways to learn skills? It can be hard sometimes to think outside the box, because we want to be sure that box is checked, but as homeschoolers we have the opportunity to be creative when it comes to our students' education which includes adding drama to our homeschool.
Hi! My name is Danielle and I have homeschooled my kids for 20 years. When we started homeschooling, I was concerned my kids may not be able to participate in some of the fun activities like drama that I was able to do growing up with a public school education. I quickly found out that I had nothing to worry about. My kids were able to have an excellent academic experience, as well as the opportunity to include all the fun extracurricular activities that round out a great education and childhood experience.
Oftentimes when we are checking off boxes, we forget about what skills we want our students to learn and that they can be taught in many different ways. Here at homeschooldrama.com we want to help you see how you can accomplish your goals and have drama too.
Do you want your student to develop leadership skills?
Have them lead a drama club.
Do you want your student to learn to be organized?
Have your student direct a play with friends and neighbors.
How about the ability to work with a team?
Performing a play is a great way for your student to learn how to work well with others.
Did you know the biggest fear most adults have is public speaking?
Drama is a great way to overcome that fear and develop great presentation and speaking skills.
How about the ability to be creative?
